Colt 1889 New Navy Revolver with 1905 RIA Cartridge Pouch and Holster
Colt 1889 New Navy revolver chambered in .38 long colt. The Colt 1889 was the first double-action revolver with a swing out cylinder and a sliding latch. This example features a six inch barrel, half moon blade front sight and the original Colt hard rubber grips. The bore shows minor pitting, the frame has some wear and scratches, but overall the revolver is in good condition. The Colt 1889 is different from other earlier Colt revolvers since the cylinder rotates counterclockwise instead of clockwise. This revolver is dated 1900. This revolver was adopted by the US Military and was in service until the introduction of the M1911. This revolver comes with a US marked 1905 dated Rock Island Armory cartridge pouch, and a leather holster. Perfect addition to Colt collections, or a revolver collection. C&R Eligible!
